Gone ... Farfur was beaten to death off screen in his final episode

By staff writers and wires

July 03, 2007 07:14am

A HAMAS television station that last week killed off a Mickey Mouse lookalike who urged children to fight against Israel will use other famous characters in future series, station officials have said.

Al-Aqsa TV broadcast on Friday the final episode of the children's program Tomorrow's Pioneers, starring Farfur, whose teachings about world Islamic domination, anti-Semitism and violence drew international outrage after Palestinian Media Watch aired them in May.

The New York Daily News has dubbed the character "Terror Mouse", while Walt Disney's daughter Diane described it as "pure evil".

In its latest bulletin, PMW aired details of the show's final episode in which the squeaky-voiced Farfur receives land documents from his grandfather.

The episode ended when an Israeli investigator tried to force Farfur to give up the key and the papers that his grandfather had given him.

When Farfur refused, the Israeli beat Farfur to death.

While Farfur's death was not shown to the child viewers, the hostess of the show, Saraa, sadly announced his demise to the children: "Yes, our children friends, we lost our dearest friend, Farfur".

"Farfur turned to a martyr while protecting his land. He turned into a martyr at the hands of the criminals, and murderers, the murderers of the innocent children," she told viewers.

The presenter then spoke to a three-year-old child caller named Shaimaa who said: "We don't like the Jews because they are dogs! We will fight them!"

The latest episode is sure to prompt further outrage.

The Palestinian Authority had promised to immediately suspend the show in response to international condemnation in May, but allowed it to air for another week.

It was suspended during the violence in Gaza before resuming for the final grizzly episode.

Mohammad Saeed, the director of production at Al-Aqsa Television, said the station would use other famous cartoon characters in future shows.

"Farfur was a story alive and he has turned into another story as a (martyr)," Mr Saeed said.

Hamas drives CIA out of Gaza

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip - Cheering Hamas supporters wearing green headbands and waving flags surged through Gaza's streets Friday as Islamic militants in black masks took over one of President Mahmoud Abbas' offices and rifled through his bedroom.

Hamas offered amnesty to its defeated foes as violence tapered off from five days of bloodshed that claimed more than 90 lives. But
Fatah leader Abbas made the split complete by firing the Hamas prime minister, leaving Palestinians struggling (celebrating) to adjust to a new political reality..

University lecturers threatened yesterday to provoke international condemnation by forcing their union into a year-long debate over boycotting work with Israeli universities.

Delegates at the first conference of the new University and College Union in Bournemouth voted by 158 to 99 for "a comprehensive and consistent boycott" of all Israeli academic institutions, as called for by Palestinian trade unions in response to Israel's "40-year occupation" of Palestinian land.

The union's leadership must now circulate calls from Palestinians for a boycott of Israeli universities to all branches throughout the country.

Last Friday morning I drove to the Palestinian village of Bil'in. Bil'in, the village that has turned into a symbol of the struggle against the Apartheid Wall and against the confiscation of Palestinian land by fraudulent Jewish real-estate sharks who hide behind fake patriotism. Bil'in, a Palestinian village geographically close to Tel Aviv and central Israel and to call the fake leftists who inhabit Tel Aviv's coffee shops. ...more

Palestinian women martyrdom seekers

Brigades of Palestinian women martyrdom seekers declare existence

The Al-Quds brigades, the main military wing of the Islamic Jihad movement declared Sunday they had prepared dozens of female bombers to defend the Palestinian people if the Zionist occupation army invaded the Gaza Strip.

A commander of the the Al-Quds Brigades warned the regime against committing any foolish acts against Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.

"The enemy's threat to act in the Strip will not be fruitful and their goals will not be achieved. The Palestinian resistance's factions are at high alert to handle a Zionist attack in the Strip," the statement said.

The brigades also released a video clip in which a high-ranking Jihad official said that Al-Quds brigades prepared dozens of female bombers who were eager to blow themselves up along with Zionist occupation infantry troops if they was to enter and operate in the Gaza Strip.

One of the women in the clip said that she would like to be the first to carry out a martyrdom operation on behalf of the Palestinian resistance against the Israeli occupation.

She said that she felt envy with the bombers who "received Allah's help in fulfilling successful missions, and we wish to follow in their footsteps. The enemy will be defeated if it invades the Strip."

Haniyah speaks

Amid a rapturous standing ovation Haniya spoke by video link from his Gaza office to the delegates. Haniya affirmed the unity of the Palestinian people in spite of the barriers of geography. He said, "I hoped to attend personally to be close to our brothers who still bear the love of Palestine despite the years and pain of exile." He added, "I wanted to participate, carrying all the love and commitment of Palestine and its people wherever they may be."
The Palestinian Prime Minister thanked the members of the Dutch government who supported his request to attend the conference, saying “this shows that there are still many voices of reason, conscience and solidarity with us."

Ismail Haniya spoke of the unjust and oppressive siege against the Palestinian people and their elected government. He said the one-year blockade had failed to dislodge or force his government to make concessions as they were intended. Instead he paid tribute to the determination of the Palestinian people and the success they had achieved with the signing of the Makka Agreement

The Fifth Palestinians in Europe Conference coincided with the 62 anniversary of the liberation of Holland from Nazi occupation. Haniya used the occasion to note that the Dutch celebration of their liberation constituted a source of strength for the Palestinians to continue struggling to win their own independence.

Pro-Palestinian rally on Holland's Liberation Day draws thousands By Cnaan Lifshitz

Thousands of pro-Palestinian protestors gathered in Rotterdam on Netherlands's Liberation Day Saturday to demonstrate against Israel, drawing parallels between the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands during World War II and Israel's occupation of the West Bank. Keynote speaker former Dutch prime minister Dries Van Agt addressed the protestors and voiced his regret over Holland's "biased" pro-Israeli stance and boycott of the Hamas. PA Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh, who was denied entry to Belgium and Holland, addressed protestors on a TV screen via a satellite connection. Another Hamas representative, PA Sports Minister Basem Naim, cancelled his participation after he was not allowed to disembark at Brussels' international airport.

"The European and Dutch boycott of Hamas is wrong and even stupid," Van Agt said. "We automatically pardon the occupier and sanction the occupied nation."

Evidentemente Hamas no hace terrorismo.
